BRAZIL - The Brazilian Broiler Chick Producer’s Association Apinco, has reported that broiler production remained virtually unchanged in the Country last year.

The association says 9.353 million tons of chicken were produced in 2006. That’s only five thousand tons more than 2005 – or a 0.06 percent change.

Apinco says this is the smallest growth in the last decade (1997–2006). The association says during this period Brazilian chicken production grew 130 percent, an average of 8.7 percent per year.
