The Program utilizes two innovative products, DuPontTM Anthium Dioxide® and DuPontTM AcidEdgeTM, to control the build-up of slime and odour causing bacteria, control taste and odor problems and reduce corrosion. “Water quality is essential to helping producers optimize growth, productivity and profitability, but traditional methods of scale removal have limitations, particularly in the area of bioslime control,” said Nick Fanandakis, vice president and general manager – DuPont Chemical Solutions Enterprise. “By providing poultry producers with a complete offering for managing water quality, the DuPont Waterline Program represents a critical piece in an end-to-end biosecurity solution.”

"Scale and mineral deposits in the waterlines and drinkers not only decrease the availability of clean water, but also become a nutrient source and attachment point for bioslime that inhibits scale removal. DuPontTM AcidEdgeTM is formulated to remove these deposits during cleaning after depopulation, helping keep lines clean and open.

DuPontTM AcidEdgeTM can also be used with DuPontTM Anthium Dioxide®, which has more oxidizing power than chlorine and is an oxidizer for iron and manganese, for enhanced scale and bioslime removal. This combination also provides bleaching action to augment the cleaning and disinfecting properties of a biosecurity program.
