Kayem Foods, Inc. of Chelsea, MA is voluntarily recalling approximately 35,580 pounds of raw, uncooked Mango Chipotle chicken sausage because it contains an undeclared allergen (wheat).

The company discovered the issue following a routine internal audit. There have been no reports of illness due to consumption of these products. Anyone concerned about an allergic reaction should contact a physician.

The recall affects only the company's raw, uncooked Mango Chipotle chicken sausage, which is sold one-pound packages. It is packaged in yellow Styrofoam trays under the al fresco brand. The product packaging bears the UPC number 030771097640, establishment number "P-18388" under the USDA mark of inspection and various production dates between April 16, 2005 and May 8, 2007.

The product was distributed to retail stores in nine states (Illinois, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Wisconsin, Texas, California, South Carolina and Florida.)
