With the dues to Milma cleared and the Kerala State Poultry Development Corporation (KSPDC) agreeing to the transportation rates suggested by the Corporation, the scheme will now stage a comeback in schools from Wednesday.

Though the project was launched by the Welfare Committee of the Corporation with much pomp and splendour three months back, it had failed to survive in many schools later. The contract for supplying milk was awarded to Milma and that of eggs was given to the KSPDC. However, Milma had stopped the supply of milk owing to dues of approximately Rs 22 lakh piled up by the Corporation.

The KSPDC had engaged itself in a row with the Corporation over the transportation rates of eggs. The Corporation Welfare Standing Committee Chairman Rajendradas said that the dues have been cleared and Milma had agreed to supply milk to schools. The supply began on Monday itself, he said.
