MARYLAND - Researchers and environmental leaders are scheduled to appear Thursday in Salisbury for what's billed as an Eastern Shore Poultry Summit.

It's being organized by the Waterkeeper Alliance and will focus on pollution from chicken farms that harm to area waterways.

Organizers say the summit is designed to promote realistic ways to reduce the nutrient runoff that harms marine life.

Maryland Attorney General Doug Gansler is scheduled to speak about efforts by his office to investigate and enforce state environmental laws.
