Poultry farms in Maryland are getting more attention from state officials who want to promote ways to reduce pollution.

Attorney General Douglas Gansler is on the Eastern Shore Wednesday to tour a farm and learn about how they're inspected for nutrient management.

Scientists say chicken litter is a major contributor to pollution in the Chesapeake Bay.

Gansler plans to tour the farm and is also planning to speak Thursday at an environmental summit on poultry in Salisbury.

Chicken farmers and scientists will gather to talk about better ways to manage pollution.
