According to Business First the plant will employ about 250 people.

"The location of Rancho Poultry to the Marion County community will produce hundreds of employment opportunities and represents a tremendous capital investment in the commonwealth," Gov. Steve Beshear said Tuesday in a news release.

Rancho Poultry plans to build a 100,000 square-foot facility on 25 acres, with two processing lines capable of making 60 million pounds of partially cooked, battered and breaded chicken products annually. The company is also considering adding a third product line and an additional 50 jobs, the news agency reported.

The Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority gave final approval in June 2008 for up to $7.5 million on tax benefits for the project.
