The country's largest independently owned free-range and organic egg company, John Bowler's Eggs outgrew its previous 3000 square feet premises in Etwall last year and needed to find new headquarters to cater for its current team of 45 office-based staff.

A steel storage barn on one of Bowler's nearby farms presented the ideal opportunity for a conversion, and now provides 8000 square feet of modern office space over two storeys, all designed to the firm's own specification.

"Everyone is now under one roof – the majority in open-plan offices – which helps us to function more effectively as a team," says Managing Director, John Bowler. "The £1 million it cost to build has already proved more than worth it. It even includes our own gym facilities and everyone is thrilled with the spacious, comfortable surroundings; the move to a better working environment has been hugely motivating."

Mr Bowler is confident about the future. "With the market trend towards free range eggs looking set to continue, we are very excited about what's in store for us and our producers," he enthuses.

"We believe John Bowler's production system cannot be beaten and will consistently meet demand with top quality eggs."
