Salmonella Outbreak Caused by Eating Fish
HAWAII - The consumption of raw fish - and not poultry products - is now thought to have caused an outbreak of food poisoning last year.Researchers think consumption of raw fish is responsible for a salmonella outbreak in Hawaii in November 2007, reports SmartBrief.
"We had initially thought that, as with most salmonellosis outbreaks, the source would likely be poultry or some other commonly recognized source," said a researcher. "Finding that raw fish consumption was the culprit was surprising."
