The contest, launched in September, is comprised of three phases. In the first phase participants were asked to submit short video clips showing routine practices or daily events in agriculture. The current phase requires participants to pull from more than 150 contest clips to create a short video.

These videos can be posted to the contest Web site (www.meetwhatyoueat.com) until November 21, 2008. The final phase invites all participants and the public to vote for their favorite video, with the winner announced in December.

“We are extremely pleased with the volume and quality of the work that students have submitted thus far,” said Jeff Mellinger, Global Leader of Sales and Marketing for Alpharma Inc., Animal Health. “We are hopeful that this experience will help educate students as well as consumers about the importance of our food production practices and technologies.”

Producers of the winning video will win a $5,000 prize. The contest is open to all college students and student organizations.
