Prominent Increase in Thai Export Sales

THAILAND - Chareon Pokphand Foods Plc, the largest Thai food processor in, has posted an increase of 151 per cent in profits for the first three quarters of 2008.

Sales increased by 17% and there was a marked increase in export sales.

According to MeatRussia.com, chicken exports increased and there was a surge in meat product sales on the domestic market.

According to the CEO, “although we have seen lower pig prices and poultry prices and the cost of raw materials and feed have gone down. The fourth quarter will reflect a slowdown caused by the economic slowdown”.

The company exports poultry products to India, Vietnam, Malaysia and Russia.
