Over 80 delegates from 30 companies attended recent Aviagen nutrition seminars for two of Aviagen's customers in the Czech Republic – Xavergen and Best. The meetings were aimed at broiler farmers, nutritionists and feed manufacturers and offered practical management advice on how to maximise the performance of their Ross products.

The meetings highlighted the economic benefits of providing good feed quality and nutrient specifications for Ross birds. To encourage a better understanding of feed quality, customers had the opportunity to take part in a practical session which involved handling and working with various feed types.

The advice was presented by members of the Aviagen technical team including Marcus Kenny, Nutrition Technical Specialist, Neil Clark, Technical Service Manager and Vlada Zima, Sales and Technical Manager.

Neil Clark commented, "We are pleased at how well the events were received, and it's a great opportunity to get out and about and provide specialist support. The practical sessions have been a great success as they provide the delegates with the opportunity to put into practice the techniques and advice offered in the presentations. The combination of written advice and practical workshops provides customers with even greater knowledge on how to ensure they achieve the maximum potential from their Ross stock."

Zdenek Kristian, the owner of Best Opava, one of Aviagen’s major Czech customers, added, "The presentation and practical sessions were excellent, very informative and relevant to the issues that customers are currently experiencing. The facilities at the venue were excellent and there was a friendly atmosphere amongst all those in attendance.

"The social aspect of the meeting is just as important to the farmers as the technical support, as it allows them to share experiences and best practice with others in the area. We would like to thank Aviagen for organizing such excellent events."
