Inventory of Frozen Chicken, Eggs Down

US - The inventories for frozen poultry meat and eggs have dropped compared to last year, while turkey was up slightly.

Total frozen poultry supplies at the end of May were down three million pounds from the previous month, and four per cent below last year, according to the USDA's latest report on agricultural products in cold storage.

At 642 million pounds, total stocks of chicken were down almost 17 million pounds from the previous month, and down 15 per cent from last year, according to AgReport. Frozen egg stocks were up 16 per cent on the month at 21.2 million pounds.

At 585 million pounds, total pounds of turkey in freezers were up two per cent from last month and up roughly 63 million pounds from last year.
