This year's meeting will be held at Manly's refurbished quarantine station from 7 October. The theme for this year is 'The River of Ideas', reflecting the journey from CRC 1 to CRC 2 and the focus of the CRC's research from 2010 onwards.

Poultry CRC researchers will give short presentations about their work in areas including the production of a necrotic enteritis vaccine and the potential of RNAi technology in the egg industry.

Developments in education and training will be outlined in a session on delivering educational benefits, including a wrap-up from the CRC's outgoing Educational Coordinator, Julie Roberts and a postgraduate's perspective from the University of Melbourne's Kylie Hewson.

Industry representatives will identify the outcomes they want to see from CRC 2 in a session called My Company's Wish List, and other industry issues such as the implications of the Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme and the Primary Industries R, D & E strategies, will be covered on 8 October.

The Ideas Exchange is a great opportunity for poultry scientists and industry people to share ideas and gain valuable insights from each others' perspectives, according to Professor Mingan Choct, CEO of Poultry CRC.
