US Monthly Egg Products Report - November 2009

US - Shell eggs broken totaled 172 million dozen during October 2009, down six per cent from October a year ago, but one per cent above the 170 million broken last month, according to the USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) in their monthly Egg Products report in October 2009.

During calendar year 2009 through October, shell eggs broken totalled 1,674 million dozen, down three per cent from the comparable period in 2008.

To date, cumulative total edible product from eggs broken in 2009 was 2,184 million pounds, down three per cent from 2008.

October 2009 contained 22 weekdays (including one holiday) and five Saturdays. October 2008 contained 23 weekdays (including one holiday) and four Saturdays.
