The UK's leading pig and poultry business event takes place at Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire, today (May 11) and tomorrow. It is expected to attract 9,000 visitors and 250 exhibitors. For this show only, NFU membership is being made available for the discounted rate of just £99 for the first year – a saving of at least 40 per cent. Existing members who are poultry producers, but not yet registered with a poultry interest, can upgrade their membership for £20.

Once again the NFU will have a stand at the two-day event, with specialist advisers on hand to discuss members' legal or SPS issues.

On the opening afternoon (3PM), we’ll also be hosting a reception where visitors can enjoy tea and cakes and meet NFU President Peter Kendall and poultry board chairman Charles Bourns. Mr Bourns said, “This show is always one of the highlights of the year for pig and poultry producers around the country. It’s a must for gathering information and business advice, networking with fellow farmers and for seeing the latest industry products and innovations.”

NFU Head of Membership Mark Casement was expecting a busy two days and was hoping the completely revamped Poultry Forum magazine - a sector specific members’ magazine - would provide an extra draw.

He said, “It’s been restructured and redesigned to pack a bigger punch. The latest issue includes information on broiler welfare, flock health and the latest on IPPC. Business brief, which provides invaluable costing information for the egg and poultry meat sector, has also been integrated into the centre pages of the magazine.”
