Lohmann Animal Health, a global major in the Animal Health business with particular emphasis on poultry biologicals, and with manufacturing facilities in Germany and the US joins force with India's no. 1 poultry company, Suguna, for a joint venture in India for manufacturing and marketing its range of world class poultry vaccines. The JV company, Globion India Private Limited, is located at Genome Valley, Hyderabad, India. Approximately US$15 million will be invested in total in the JV.

Globion has recently commissioned a state-of-the-art vaccine manufacturing facility complying with GMP standards. Globion will produce a whole range of poultry vaccines – Live and Inactivated for breeders, layers and broilers – to be marketed under the brand, GlobiVac.

Mr B. Soundararajan, managing director of Suguna Poultry, commented that Suguna Group's philosophy has always been excellence in quality. He is confident that Globion will meet the high quality standards expected by the Indian poultry industry. He added that this JV will start a new era and pave the way for the transfer of high-end technology from Germany to India.

Markus Wesjohann, managing director of Lohmann Animal Health, is also very optimistic about this JV. Lohmann Animal Health is present in all major poultry-producing countries and enjoys a leadership position in speciality vaccines, e.g. Salmonella and Chicken Anaemia Vaccines.

In his opinion, the brand GlobiVac stands for 'German Technology – Made in India'. The highly professional and skilled employees of Globion have given substantial confidence to the Lohmann Animal Health management for this investment in Asia.
