Kosher Poultry Slaughterhouse in Krasnodar Region

RUSSIA - A new poultry slaughterhouse using kosher procedures has been opened in Novorossiysk.

In the Black Sea port-city of Novorossiysk, near Krasnodar, a kosher slaughter-house for chickens has been opened, reports the Federation of Jewish Communities of the CIS. Kosher slaughtering takes place at the plant.

The kosher chickens produced in Novorossiysk, which is in the Kuban region, will be made available in Jewish communities across Russia. The sh'chita (kosher slaughtering) is in accordance with the standards of Chabad-Lubavitch. The process is overseen by Rabbi Yitzchak Kogan of Moscow, a renowned expert on sh'chita and is under the supervision of the Chief Rabbi of Russia Berel Lazar.
