The award recognises the country with the most effective marketing campaign over the past 12 months.

British Lion eggs won the award following its research and the subsequent publicity highlighting the nutrient density of eggs, which culminated in scientific experts adding eggs to the list of superfoods.

The superfoods prize follows the award-winning 'Lifting the Limits' campaign, which highlighted heart and health groups’ removal of limits on egg consumption.

Andrew Parker, Chairman of the British Egg Industry Council, said: "We are delighted to have won this award, which recognises the significance that eggs’ acceptance as a superfood will have for the egg industry worldwide."
