UK Feed Production Up Five Per Cent in November

UK - Feed production in November 2010 was five per cent higher than in the same month of 2009, according to the GB Animal Feed Statistical Notice.

The latest national statistics are for the period to November 2010, and include statistics on British animal feed include data for the period September 2010, October 2010 and November 2010 with percentage change for corresponding period in the previous year. Statistics for the quarterly average price series show data from the period January to March 2006 up to the period July to September 2010.

Among the key points of the report are that, in November 2010, the total retail production of animal feed was up 4.9 per cent compared with November 2009.

In November 2010, the total raw material usage in the retail production of animal feed was up 5.0 per cent compared with the same month in the previous year.

Total integrated feed production in November 2010 was 2.2 per cent more than November 2009.

For the period July to September 2010, quarterly average prices of animal feedingstuffs (per tonne) were cattle and calf feed, £179; pig feed, £212 and poultry feed, £224. The corresponding figures for the period January to March 2010 were £181, £210 and £209, respectively.
