Verbeek Opens New Hatchery

NETHERLANDS - A new layer hatchery will be officially opened in Zeewolde next week.

Verbeek Hatchery Holland is to open a new hatchery in Zeewolde on 17 and 18 January.

This hatchery is build according to latest views on hygiene and biosecurity. There will be a strict separation in areas for egg handling and for the chick. Ventilation and conditioning of air will be separate for each room. The building has an advanced chick handling room. Sexing, vaccination and beak treatment can be done on one handling line.

Pieter Kruit, Managing Director of Verbeek Hatchery – Holland explained: "The investment in this new layer hatchery is a strong move of Verbeek, in order to safeguard future deliveries of quality day-old layer chicks in the years to come. It is a investment in the future of the European layer industry."

The official opening will take place on 17 January, with guest speakers, and there will be an open house on the following day.
