"This journal would definitely be of great relevance to marginal and small farmers," said Giriraj Singh, animal husbandry minister, while launching the edition.

'Poultry Jagat' is published by poultry scientists and journalists, reports The Economic Times. "The role of the newspaper is to disseminate information on poultry farming and latest technology in farm management to producers and farmers," said GN Ghosh, a veteran journalist and managing editor of the paper.

In recent years, to cope with the growing demand for eggs and chicken in states like Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand, poultry production has been increased tremendously, leading to need for a Hindi edition of the newspaper for upgradation of the knowledge and technique of farm production.

'Poultry Jagat' is now a 26-year-old magazine, which was hitherto being published in English and Bangla.
