Three New Outbreaks of Newcastle Disease Reported

ISRAEL - There have been three new outbreaks of Newcastle disease in village poultry flocks.

The veterinary authority sent Follow Up Report No. 8 dated 21 February to the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE).

All three outbreaks started between 14 and 21 February in Hamerkaz and Hazafon, the regions where previous outbreaks have occurred in recent weeks.

In total, 34,013 birds were affected, including one broiler flock of around 30,000 birds, of which 5,213 showed symptoms. Of these, 510 birds died and three were culled.
