Poultry Smells Ended in Court
UK - Smells from a poultry unit in Sibsey, Boston affected neighbours for several months when the company failed to comply with its permit condition or follow guidance, a court heard this week.According to the Environment Agency, Moy Park Ltd, who ran the unit in 2009 at Main Road, Sibsey pleaded guilty at Boston Magistrates' Court and was fined £30,000 and ordered to pay full costs of £12,123 to the Environment Agency.
Magistrates were told that the company had failed to follow advice given by the Agency and did not follow guidance on odour management from poultry farms.
