The veterinary authority sent Follow Up Report No. 15 dated 8 May to the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE).

The report describes three new outbreaks of Newcastle disease – two in Hazafon and one in Hadarom – starting between 28 April and 3 May.

All three flocks are described as 'village flocks' but, in total, 31,020 birds were involved, of which 5,015 showed symptoms and 2,210 birds died. The remaining 28,810 birds have been destroyed.

Some outbreaks are connected epidemiologically through persons or equipment that passed from one farm to another, according to the report.
