US Egg Products Report - April 2011

US - Shell eggs broken totalled 180 million dozen during March 2011, nine per cent more than the same month last year, according to the USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) in their monthly Egg Products report for April 2011.

Shell eggs broken totalled 180 million dozen during March 2011, up nine per cent from March a year ago, and 16 per cent above the 155 million broken last month.

During calendar year 2011 through March, shell eggs broken totalled 505 million dozen, up seven per cent from the comparable period in 2010. To date, cumulative total edible product from eggs broken in 2011 was 660 million pounds, up seven per cent from 2010.

Both March 2010 and March 2011 contained 23 weekdays (including no holiday) and four Saturdays.
