MEXICO - XVII Congress Of The World Veterinary Poultry Association (WVPA) will take place in Cancun on 14 to 18 August, and the organisers are welcoming registrations.

This year is the World Year of the Veterinarian. Veterinary medicine as a profession began 250 years ago with the founding of the first school of Veterinary Medicine in Lyon, France.

The World Veterinary Association, along with other leading veterinary organisations, has designated 2011 as the 'Year of the Veterinarian'.

What an opportunity to celebrate the Year of the Veterinarian in Cancun, Mexico, say the Congress organisers.

For the first time, the World Veterinary Poultry Congress will take place in Latin America, and the organisers are proud to host this congress in Mexico.

The XVII Congress of the WVPA from 14 to 18 August 2011 will have an excellent range in its scientific programme, including symposia and workshops as well as oral and poster presentations.

It will be in one of the most beautiful beaches of the Mexican Caribbean sea.
