The legal affairs committee of Kuwait Municipality yesterday (22 June) rejected a request by several poultry companies to grant them licences to establish poultry slaughterhouses in the farm area of Al-Wafra.

However, the committee proposed to establish a workshop to discuss the issue and work on a proposed draft legislation and reform of the 5-2005 law, which calls for the need to include some issues on the subject of corrupt food products, said the head of the committee, Faraz Al-Mutairi.
