Moye Named Industry Leader by Poultry Federation

US - Jerry Moye, President of Cobb-Vantress, Inc. was named '2011 Industry Leader of the Year' by The Poultry Federation during the 52nd Annual Poultry Festival, which was held on 17 to 18 June in Rogers, Arkansas.

The award, formerly titled 'Man of the Year', has been awarded since 1955 and recognises the outstanding achievements of poultry and egg executives and their contribution to the industry.


Jerry Moye

Mr Moye has been in the poultry industry for over 30 years. He has progressed from director of technical services to become general manager, vice president, a senior vice president, and then president of Cobb-Vantress. Before joining Cobb-Vantress, he spent sixteen years in integrated chicken production as a live production manager for two large US integrators. His management responsibilities included breeders, hatcheries, broilers and feed mills. He has a degree in economics from Washington College in Maryland.

Mr Moye recently completed a three-year term on The Poultry Federation's Board of Directors and is currently serving another three-year term. He served as the Chairman of the Board of Directors from 2008-2010. He is one of the very few directors that served two consecutive years as Chairman. During his tenure, there was never a job too small or too large for him to tackle and his leadership as Chairman is well recognised.

Mr Moye and his wife, Cherie, reside in Rogers, Arkansas.

The Poultry Federation is a tri-state trade organization representing the poultry and egg industries in Arkansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma. Offices are located in Little Rock in Arkansas, Jefferson City in Missouri and Oklahoma City in Oklahoma. The purposes of the Federation are to promote and protect all poultry interests relating to production, distribution, merchandising and consumption of poultry and poultry products; to disseminate information relating to the various phases of the poultry industry in order to improve and expand markets; to increase efficiency in production and marketing; to encourage and support research in production and marketing of poultry; and to encourage and support youth programmes in poultry work.
