Germany Reports More Low-Path Bird Flu

GERMANY - Birds on five more farms have reacted positive for low-pathogenic avian influenza (LPAI).

The veterinary authority has sent Follow Up Report No. 6 dated 7 July to the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE).

The report describes how poultry on five farms in Saxony were found to be positive for the H7N7 sub-type of the LPAI virus between 11 June and 6 July. In total, 510 birds were involved, of which 26 were positive for the virus, six died and the remaining 447 birds were destroyed.
