Brasil Foods in Negotiations for Doux Pig Assets
BRAZIL - Brasil Foods, BRF, has announced that it is in negotiations with the French poultry processing giant, Doux, for some of its pig meat slaughter and production business.

In a notice to the market, Brasil Foods says: "In compliance with the terms of CVM Instruction 358, dated January 3, 2002 and § 4 of Art. 157 of Law 6.404/76, it announces that it is in negotiations for the acquisition of certain assets related to the operation of production and slaughter of pigs from Doux, located in Ana Rech-RS.
The notice adds that this deal does not involve the purchase of any brand.
BRF said that it will immediately inform the appropriate market of any concrete moves resulting from the negotiations.
