VIET NAM - Three new outbreaks of H5N1 highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) have been reported in the central and northern regions of the country.

The veterinary authorities sent Follow Up report No. 56 dated 5 September to the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE).
The report describes three new outbreaks of HPAI between 18 and 26 August in village flocks in the provinces of Quang Ngai, Quang Tri and Thai Binh. All birds that did not die of the disease have been destroyed.
