The workers have been picketing the factory for the past week in support of better pay and conditions.

ABC News reports that the strike has affected Victorian farmers, who supply chickens to Baiada.

Mike Shaw of the Victorian Farmer's Federation, says the dispute could disrupt chicken supplies to supermarkets.

"So about 70 of our farmers are contracted with Baiada to supply them with chickens," he said.

"[Baiada] are saying that because of the strike action they may be unable to fulfil their obligations under the contract."
