US Egg Products Report – October 2011

US - Shell eggs broken totalled 176 million dozen during September 2011, 11 per cent down from the same month last year, according to the USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) in their monthly Egg Products report for October 2011.

Shell eggs broken totalled 176 million dozen during September 2011, down 11 per cent from September a year ago, and three per cent below the 182 million broken last month.

During calendar year 2011 to September, shell eggs broken totalled 1,567 million dozen, up one per cent from the comparable period in 2010. To date, cumulative total edible product from eggs broken in 2011 was 2,028 million pounds, up slightly from 2010.

Both September 2010 and September 2011 contained 22 weekdays (including one holiday) and four Saturdays.
