US Egg Products Report - December 2011

US - Shell eggs broken totalled 174 million dozen during November 2011, up six per cent from November a year ago, according to the USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) in their monthly Egg Products report for December 2011.

Shell eggs broken totalled 174 million dozen during November 2011, up six per cent from November a year ago, but slightly below the amount broken last month.

During calendar year 2011 through November, shell eggs broken totalled 1,914 million dozen, up oneer cent from the comparable period in 2010. To date, cumulative total edible product from eggs broken in 2011 was 2,480 million pounds, up one per cent from 2010.

Data presented in this report were compiled from Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) inspection reports. The best available data at the time of publication were used.

November 2010 and November 2011 both contained 22 weekdays (including two holidays) and four Saturdays.
