“Hanoi is the preferred location for the meeting,” commented Saksake Pacharadit, Parent Stock Sales Manager Asia. “Important Government people and the majority of our customers are located in the North which helps raise the attendance and enables us to get important technical information out to the market. We also appreciate the effort our customers CP Viet Nam and Emivest made to fly in from Ho Chi Minh to specifically attend this meeting.”

The welcome was given by Bill Souther, Senior Vice President Asia and Mr Tran The Xuong, Deputy Director of Livestock Department. This was followed by several speakers who addressed a range of subjects including the Ross 308 performance in South East Asia, how to maximise the parent stock, a presentation from Loung My Poultry Breeding, a review of a new investment in Aviagen India, current diseases in South East Asia and how to focus on chick quality.

Viet Nam is a growing market with poultry consumption forecast to increase by around 50 per cent in the next five years driven by rising incomes and population growth.

“It is important to have good relations with the government and the industry in this rapidly emerging market to improve awareness and understanding,” states Bill Souther.

“Successful events like this serve all parties well and will be continued in the future.”
