The price of the meat has fallen by 23 per cent. Pakistan Poultry Association Chief Convener, Maroof Siddiqui, told Daily Times that the lower prices will hopefully increase demand for the product.

He said that the decline in meat prices was unexpected but the decline in purchases from an overwhelming number of poultry consumers was to blame. He expected the decline in prices of meat and subsequently live broilers to continue into the next week.

Chicken meat prices are now Rs160 per kg, compared to Rs210 per kg, which they were earlier this month.
