UK Broiler Chick Placements Rise
UK - Broiler chick placings in the UK reached 90 million birds 3.1 per cent higher in October this year compared to October 2011, according to the latest statistices from the Department of Environment Food and Rural Affairs.

By: UK turkey placings were 6.0 per cent higher than October 2011 at 1.3 million birds.
UK broiler slaughterings were 2.5 per cent higher than October 2011 at 86 million birds.
UK turkey slaughterings were 8.4 per cent higher than October 2011 at 2.4 million birds.
UK poultry meat production was 163,000 tonnes, the same as October 2011.
