Steve Tweed, hatchery specialist, Cobb World Technical Support Team speaking at the event

Major integrators including Tyson China, Chai Tai group, OSI China and the Fengxiang Group were represented at the event where specialists from both the Cobb World Technical Support Team and the company’s Asian technical personnel covered breeder, hatchery and broiler management, ventilation and biosecurity.

“There was a tremendous lot of enthusiasm and a thirst for knowledge,” said Duncan Granshaw, Cobb general manager for Asia. “One of the biggest challenges in Asia is disease and there was particular interest in biosecurity and the management practices adopted in Western Europe to prevent infection.”

Cobb broiler specialists Eduardo de Souza and Andrew Bourne used case studies as a teaching method, analysing the problems found in field examples and involving the delegates in how to rectify them.
