Court Agrees on Meat, Poultry Exports to Afghanistan

PAKISTAN - The Peshawar High Court (PHC) has agreed to exports of poultry and cattle to Afghanistan provided the poultry and dairy farm associations can assure that the prices of chicken (broiler) and beef do not exceed Rs.285 per kilo and Rs.270 per kilo respectively.

According to The News, a two-member panel comprising Chief Justice Dost Muhammad Khan and Mrs Justice Irshad Qaiser has fixed a fine of Rs 2 million on the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa branch of the Poultry Association if the fixed maximum rate of poultry is violated.

A fine of Rs.10 million has also been imposed on the Dairy Farm Associations of KP and Pakistan should there be a violation of the stipulated price.
