These high levels of omega-6’s cause excessive inflammatory responses which can result in reduced performance and profitability. The inclusion of relatively low levels of omega-3 fatty acid supplements can help to redress the balance by helping to reduce excess inflammation and helping support improved performance.

They are known to improve reproductive performance and much data has been published showing improved hatchability and increased chick numbers. Omega-3 fatty acids are found in high levels in spermatozoa and increased dietary levels have shown improved sperm volume and quality in male breeders. In house trials have shown improved growth rates and feed conversion in broilers together with improved bone strength and histology.

Optivite has vast experience in this area and through intensive research have developed the Optomega range of products. Both liquid oil and powder versions with varying oil levels are available. The use of different carefully selected omega-3 sources allows formulation to specific levels of the key omega-3 fatty acids to be achieved. Knowledge of the oil source allows consistent levels of fatty acids removing the variability of using some single source oils. It is very clear that all fish oils are not the same!

Our knowledge of carrier technology has allowed us to produce powder versions with up to 50 per cent oil inclusion for those who cannot easily handle liquid oils.

Contact Optivite for further details on how Optomega omega-3 supplements can improve your profitability!
