The event was an opportunity for customers from Russia and beyond to learn more about the Ross PM3, a slightly smaller bird which has a strong following in France, Switzerland and Slovakia and is increasing in popularity in Russia. Amongst those who attended were Neil Clark, Regional Technical Manager CEE and CIS, Kruno Bosijl, Technical Service Manager, Russia, and a customer group from Turkey hosted by Aviagen Anadolu.

The Ross PM3, which was introduced to the Russian market only last year, is directed towards a niche market where production space is at a premium and feed costs are high. The Ross PM3 dwarf breeder female is suited to higher stocking densities and thus achieves higher hatching egg output per m2, but, at the same time, the Ross PM3 broiler offer excellent performance.

Vladimir Galkin from Lindovskaya Poultry Farm and the first Ross PM3 customer in the Russian Federation, spoke to the guests about his involvement with the new product and kindly allowed them to take a look at his own farm to observe the Ross PM3 flock first-hand.

In addition to the visit to Lindoyskaya Poultry Farm, attendees also heard from Kris van Daele, Commercial and Technical Manager at Aviagen EPI, who gave a presentation on the management of the Ross PM3 based on his experiences in France, and Eduard Taktarov, Sales Director in Russia, on the current Russian poultry market.

Eduard Taktarov commented: “Chick quality is of upmost importance and we are currently experiencing the lowest ever seven day mortality results in Russia in deliveries from our Yasnogorsk hatchery. The introduction of the Ross PM3 to the Russian market allows us to offer our customers even more choice and we are delighted with the success of the product to-date, which has been underlined by the experience here in Russia by our friends at Lindoyskaya Poultry Farm.”
