Another Outbreak of Low-Path Bird Flu in Lower Saxony

GERMANY - Another outbreak of H5N1 low-pathogenic avian influenza (LPAI) has been reported in Lower Saxony.

The veterinary authority has sent Follow-Up Report No. 5 dated 3 May to the World Orgnaisation for Animal Health (OIE).

The report describes a single outbreak of low-pathogenic avian influenza of the H5N1 subtype at a farm in Herzlake in Lower Saxony, starting on 30 April.

There were 69 cases among the flock of 34,500 birds.

The source of infection is unknown.
