UKRAINE - Livestock and poultry slaughter from January to June 2013 rose by 9.3 per cent and as a result, there has been an increased production of beef, pork and chicken, according to the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Mykola Prysyazhnyuk.

The Minister said that livestock and poultry production has become increasingly profitable not just for food manufacturers, but for farmers as well. Therefore, a number of programmes to financially aid and support individual farmers have been established.
