CHILE – Production of broiler chicken and turkey meat has posted a recovery, the Ministry of Agriculture has said.

This has allowed poultry meat exports to grow up to 4.8 per cent to 40,000 tons and imports to contract by 9.1 per cent (26,000 tons).

Live broiler prices have remained stable across the last four months for February to May and have lifted slightly by 1.4 per cent this year.

Meat behaved similarly, increasing 1 per cent until April.

Poultry meat production and wholesale prices have kept up with the levels seen in 2012 in the first half of 2013.
