Govt Declares Country Disease-free
DOMINICAN REPUBLIC - The government, through the Ministry of Agriculture, initiated the process of declaring the country free from avian influenza and Newcastle disease, certifying poultry flocks safe for export to foreign markets.Agriculture Minister Luis Ramon Rodriguez has analysed the measures to be implemented in the coming days on farms in the country.
He said the government will give the necessary support to poultry producers and receive certifications from their farms in order for them to become exporters.
"What we want is a partnership between the industry and the public sector, so that, little by little, we can make the poultry sector competitive," said Mr Rodriguez.
