Volatile Input Costs Hold Poultry Feed Flat

INDIA - Following volatility in prices of key ingredients, poultry feed prices remained unchanged on Saturday, 18 August.

Aditya Mishra told The Hindu Business Line that despite some correction in the prices of soyameal and a few other ingredients, prices of poultry feed products were unchanged as traders are waiting for the input costs to stabilise.

Correction in soyameal was anticipated while low availability mainly pushed bajra prices upwards, he added.

In the physical market, after witnessing a good rally in recent past, soyameal witnessed some correction, eased by Rs 700 and sold at Rs 32,200 a tonne. Bajra improved by Rs 50 to Rs 1,310 a quintal while Di-calcium phosphate dropped by Re 1 and sold at Rs 33.70 a kg.

MBM ruled flat and sold at 33/kg while maize moved up by Rs 30 to Rs 1,490-1,535 a quintal. Mustard de-oiled cake remained unchanged and sold at Rs 14,000 a tonne, DRB improved by Rs 100 to Rs 10,600 a tonne while rice bran oil was at 54 a kg.

Broiler concentrate feed quoted at Rs 1,970 for a 50-kg bag while Broiler Starter Mash sold at Rs 1,480 . Pre-lay mash sold at Rs 1,015 while layer grower mash quoted at Rs 955 . Layer concentrate 25 per cent sold at Rs 1,465 while layer concentrate 35 per cent was at Rs 1,150 . Broiler finisher sold at Rs 1,460.

Meanwhile, egg improved further on domestic demand while broiler and chicken remained unchanged on Saturday.

Broiler was Rs 85-88 a kg, egg was up 12 paisa and sold at Rs 3.12, while chick was unchanged at Rs 22/kg.
