Novus to Participate in FAO-IEC Technical Seminar

ZAMBIA - Novus International will participate in a technical conference aimed at sharing knowledge and increasing egg consumption in Africa, to be held in Lusaka later this week.

The International Egg Commission (IEC), working jointly with the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), is putting on a two-day technical seminar immediately prior to the IEC Cape Town Conference.

The event, which will be held in Lusaka, Zambia on 18 and 19 September, will bring together IEC members - including Novus - from nine different countries for workshops, technical presentations and the exchange of information vital to increasing egg consumption and helping local producers address some of the challenges that hinder egg production in the region. The ultimate goal is to cultivate long-term and ongoing partnerships between IEC members and these local egg producer associations.

"The service that Novus provides for the egg industry is multi-dimensional and our approach is to think globally and act locally," notes Marc Decoux, Executive Manager, Global Poultry Marketing for Novus. "It is important for us to participate in this program which is aimed at helping producers in Africa address the specific challenges they are dealing with. Our goal is to provide our customers, no matter what region of the world they are in, with the products, resources and information they need to be as successful as possible. We are excited about the opportunity to interact and do business with African producers."

In addition to sponsoring this important event, Novus will be present at the seminar. Mr Decoux will discuss the importance of hen nutrition on egg development and Peter Ssenkungu, Technical Sales Specialist in East Africa, will share about best practices for stronger businesses and better line production management. This innovative programme from Novus called the 300 Club was specifically developed to support producers in Uganda, helping them to increase productivity and efficiency in their operations.
