H7N9 Low-Path Avian Flu Virus Detected in Chinese Poultry Markets

CHINA - The low-pathogenic avian influenza A (H7N9) virus has been detected in poultry at two markets in China - one in Zhejiang province and one in Guangdong province.

The outbreaks were reported in birds in agriculture products markets.

Around 2,310 birds were destroyed at the market in Anji, Huzhou, Zhejiang province and two cases were found at a market Yangjiang, Guangdong province after being found positive for the virus.

The source of the outbreak is unknown.
