This year’s annual meeting is again taking place at glorious Jubilee Campus at the University of Nottingham between 29 and 30 April.

The meeting offers opportunities to hear original communications on the topics of poultry health and welfare, efficiency of production, nutrition and genetics.

The organisers are also very excited to be able to announce this year’s invited speakers.

Firstly, in the dedicated invited speaker’s session, entitled ‘Injurious Pecking; the move away from beak trimming’, Dr Ester Ellen from Wageningen will discuss ‘Genetic approaches to reduce injurious pecking’ and Sarah Lambton of the University of Bristol will present ‘Management strategies to reduce injurious pecking’. Steve Lister of Crowshall Veterinary Services will introduce the topic. Together, these speakers will provide an excellent update on this very current topic.

Secondly, Professor Pete Kaiser from the Roslin Institute at the University of Edinburgh will be delivering the Gordon Memorial Lecture on Tuesday evening, followed by the reception and then the popular Gala Dinner.

Furthermore, Wednesday morning also brings the opportunity to attend the Joint WPSA/BSAS Industry Session on 'The Challenges of Increased Intensification', chaired by Dr Emily Burton.

The organisers are also pleased to announce, new this year, that The British Society of Animal Science (BSAS) is the professional accrediting body for the Register of Accredited Animal Scientists and Technologists and you may be able to claim Continuing Professional Development points for your attendance at this meeting. More information will be available from the reception desk during the meeting.
